It is a widely shared belief but there’s no evidence for it in any of the sources.

In detail:

Reports were indeed filed in a large number after the German occupation, but there is no data to suggest this number exceeds those in other countries. Moreover, the reports from Hungary were not sent to the German but to the Hungarian authorities and mostly concerned claims on Jewish assets.[1]
